Ipsy Subscription January Review

Happy Vibes was the theme this month for the regular Ipsy subscription bag. This month's mantra is to make time for the things that make you smile and the vibes include soft pastel shadows, your fave podcast, and DIY manis. Here is what was included in the bag and my thoughts on the products!

First, off the bag itself is absolutely beautiful! The pastel design is one of the prettiest bags I have received. I also love how the information card inside included a skincare cheat sheet. It listed what products, why it’s used, and when it works. Definitely keeping this in my skincare supplies.

Benefit Cosmetics - The POREfessional Lite Primer

This face primer’s reasons to love it is an oil-free formula that feels light on the skin and won't clog pores. The site's description states this primer is water-based creates a perfect canvas for long-wearing makeup and leaves skin feeling soft, smooth, and hydrated. I can agree the product left my skin feeling soft, smooth, and light. It felt like I wasn’t wearing a foundation primer. It didn’t leave my skin feeling oily either. I was shocked that I did keep my foundation on all day. Overall this product gets a ten out of ten from me.

Belle En Argent - Shimmer Taupe Eyeshadow Duo in Callsheet and Production

This eyeshadow’s reason to love it is the product is vegan, fragrance-free, non-toxic, and a Leaping Bunny Certified product. The site describes the eyeshadow as a perfect duo that complements all eye colors and is versatile enough to wear from day tonight. Plus it’s infused with argan and jojoba oils, meaning it’s good for your skin too. I love this color combo. A simple nude with a taupe is great for any eye color. The pigmentation and the blend-ability of the shadow were amazing. There was little to no fallout either, I hate an eyeshadow that has fallout. Another aspect of eyeshadow that I can’t stand is when it hurts my eyes by the end of the day. This shadow did not and I think it’s accredited to the argan and jojoba oils. Overall the product gets a ten out of ten from me too.

Rose+Quartz - Hair Mask

I am super picky when it comes to products that I put in my hair. I can’t give this product a solid review being that I was too worried to try it. Let me know in the comments below if you use hair masks and which ones work best for you!

Lottie London - AM to PM Retractable Liner in Velvet

This eyeliner’s reason to love it is the retractable and sharpenable pencil point, plus it’s vegan and cruelty-free too. The site describes the product as an eyeliner that actually requires no touch-ups. It is a new formula suited for long-wearing looks from morning to night. No smearing, smudging or fading. No tugging or pulling either. The creamy, gel-like kohl texture glides along the lid like butter but is firm enough to be able to sharpen it. The liner also comes with a built-in sharpener at the other end. I love this shade of eyeliner! I typically go with the plums and browns when it comes to eyeliner. The typical black is not for me, probably because I wore it so much growing up at dance competitions I have had enough of it. The other major element of this eyeliner that I love is the fact that it stays on all day but then comes off easily with makeup remover. No harsh scrubbing at the end of the day and no leftover lingering product the next day. This product also gets a ten out of ten from me.

We Are Fluide - 7 Free Polish in Neptune’s Cove

This nail polish’s reason to love it is the product is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. The site described the product as a holographic aquamarine shade. It’s long-lasting, chip-resistant, ultra shinny, and 7 free. This means it is made without sketchy ingredients like formaldehyde and phthalates found in traditional nail polishes. The shade is very pretty I will have to admit that but it did take me three coats to get the desired pigmentation. I do love that this nail polish is free of sketchy ingredients. This product gets a seven out of ten for me.

Overall this month's bag gets a nine out of ten from me. I can’t wait to see what the February bag with bring!
