April Habits and Goals

Image
A new month means new goals and habits. For the month of April, I mapped out my goals and habits, with the method I learned through James Clear’s 30 Days to Better Habits Email Course. This month I have taken the templates from the course to map out my own habits which intend to make my goals for the month achievable.  James Clear gives you many different sentences to think about when making goals, which then are used to create atomic habits. These include the formation of a habit, priming your environment, keys to making it a routine, and many more. I took each of my goals for this month and wrote out how the atomic habits will help me reach each one this month.  This is what I will be working for this month.  The goal is to read three books. This goal turns into the goal of becoming a better reader. The habit turns into reading one chapter a day. I will achieve this habit by priming my environment by placing the currently reading book on the gray reading chair in my ro...

Review of 30 Days to Better Habits Course

Image
Hey babes! It’s that hump day post coming at you live. I’m sure many of you know by now I’m an avid reader and I like to be organized along with having a routine. I’m going to let you in on a secret that changed the way I look at my routine.  I bought the book Atomic Habits after seeing millions of rave reviews. I’m telling you right now it was life-changing! I went through that book in two days, no joke. I wanted to implement all the knowledge and wisdom of James Clear into my everyday routine but I had no clue where to start. Towards the end of the book, there was an advertisement for a 30 Days to Better Habits Email Course through James Clear’s website. It was just the thing I needed to help implement all the knowledge and wisdom from the book into my own life. The course is not an email every 30 days, it’s 11 emails in total, every three days. The course goes along with the book in showing you how to take the guesswork out of habit building, getting the tools and strategies you...

Working from Home Routine

Image
Working from home has become very popular since the pandemic hit, it is still popular now with things going back to normal. I’m at a 50/50 with whether I rather work from home or work in an office. I would love to have a designated office at home but I have a hard time not shutting off my laptop at 5 o'clock, so working from home is a challenge in that aspect. If I had an office I could just shut the door at a certain time to refrain from over working. That's the plus side to working at the office. I come home, plug in my computer, and don’t touch any office work till the next morning. But when it comes to having a work from home day here is my routine, babes!  7:00 a.m. Wake up and start typical morning routine 8:30 a.m. Start in on the work day  I first check my email and reply to any necessary messages and send any new messages.  Then I go right in on the to do list, starting from what needs done first. I typically take a break for lunch around 11:30 a.m. Monday aftern...

Top 5 Productivity Tips

Image
Productivity is defined as the state or quality of producing something. Productivity for me is having intention throughout the day. Now I might have the intention to take an easy day and watch Netflix all day after a long week, and that is completely okay! Some people think productivity is getting things done every single day, not taking breaks, or being busy busy busy. I am here to tell you no that is not productivity. Here are my top five ways of helping me have the most productive week.  Have a routine set in place for each day. Mix it up a bit each day so you don’t get bored. Set time blocks. Such as a 2-hour window to focus on work or homework, an hour to do something creative, and forty-five minutes for self-care. The possibilities are endless.  Spread out to-do list items throughout the week. This will prevent burnout and last-minute stress.   Plan self-care and days off each week. Planing this each week will help burnout and procrastination.  It is okay ...
