Ipsy Subscription January Review

Image
Happy Vibes was the theme this month for the regular Ipsy subscription bag. This month's mantra is to make time for the things that make you smile and the vibes include soft pastel shadows, your fave podcast, and DIY manis. Here is what was included in the bag and my thoughts on the products!  First, off the bag itself is absolutely beautiful! The pastel design is one of the prettiest bags I have received. I also love how the information card inside included a skincare cheat sheet. It listed what products, why it’s used, and when it works. Definitely keeping this in my skincare supplies.  Benefit Cosmetics - The POREfessional Lite Primer  This face primer’s reasons to love it is an oil-free formula that feels light on the skin and won't clog pores. The site's description states this primer is water-based creates a perfect canvas for long-wearing makeup and leaves skin feeling soft, smooth, and hydrated. I can agree the product left my skin feeling soft, smooth, and light....

Top 5 Favorite Youtubers

Image
Is Youtube still a thing? Or is Tiktok taking over? I hope I’m not the only one that still watches their favorite Youtuber from time to time. My favorites are all widely different too. Here is who I would consider my top five favorite Youtubers.  Haley’s Corner - A channel that has is mainly focused on thrifting, styling, and vlogging.  Alex Warren - Just pure and hilarious entertainment. He also is an amazing singer. Check him out!  Yoga with Adriene - A great way to start yoga and not to mention free too! James Charles - Yes I still watch his videos. His makeup looks and skills are just so good.  Jessica Neistadt - Another channel focused on thrifting, styling, and vlogging. She has a very different style compared to Haley though.  Who are your top favorite Youtubers? Let me know in the comments below! Later, babes!

What is a Book You Love?

Image
That’s one of the hardest questions for me to answer. I love reading in my spare time and there are so many amazing books out there! I didn’t always love reading, but there was one book series that changed it all for me. The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. The series is a fantasy, mystery, and romance all wrapped into one. I recommend this series to anyone looking for a fantasy or mystery read. The story follows a typical fifteen-year-old Clary Frey until she witnesses a murder committed by three other teenagers with strange-looking tattoos and odd-looking weapons. But this is no typical murder the body suddenly disappears and everyone else around hasn’t seemed to notice the murdering teenagers. This is when Clary’s typical teenager world is turned upside down.  Clare didn’t stop there with the Shadowhunter universe; she has more series that fall in with The Mortal Instruments. Unpopular Opinions - Yes or No?

By definition, unpopular opinions are simply defined as ideas and beliefs that go against or completely contradict the conventional status quo. We all have them some worse than others. I have a couple of my own too.  Milk and ice cream are absolutely disgusting.  A bubble bath is the best feeling in the world.  Driving is the best way to travel.  Reading a book is more entertaining than watching a movie.  Working from home is more productive.  Are my unpopular opinions completely insane? What are some of your unpopular opinions? Leave them in the comments below! Later, babes!

5 Apps I Can't Live Without

Image
Let’s be real everyone relies on our phones. More than we would like to admit, sadly. We each have our favorite apps that we can’t live without. The top five that I use the most are  Instagram - My favorite social media app. Of course, I couldn’t live without scrolling through that multiple times a day.  Outlook - My calendar and my emails are all living here. I can’t miss a meeting for work or an email from a professor.  Facetime - I love Facetiming family members back home or even my boyfriend from time to time.  PNC - I use my bank card way too much. I need to know how much money I spend and how much is left on a daily basis.  Goodreads - this is where all my books are held. The ones I have read, currently reading, and want to read.  What are the top five apps that you can’t live without? Let me know in the comments below! Later, babes!

Letter to Teenage Self

Senior High School Jessi,  I know you think it’s the end of the world right now. But it gets better, you are going to do such amazing things, make new memories, and new friends. You will have an undefeated senior year competing with an amazing team, graduate high school, start college, find your career passion, join a college dance team, join a sorority, find your sisters, graduate college in the middle of a pandemic, move to a new state, start graduate school, get your dream internship, and found the love you have always dreamed about.  But it won’t always be happy. You will go through trials, some being the worst you have ever been through. This time of feeling like no one is your friend at school and your best friend thinking you're invisible will seem like nothing compared to the summer of 2019. But you will get through it. I promise it will just take time. During that time you will find such joy and happiness in a little puppy, your baby girl, Pumpkin. You will learn who ...

Typical Daily Routine

Image
One of the first books I read in the new year was Atomic Habits by James Clear. If you have not read it yet I suggest you do. I recommend it for anyone wanting to set new goals for the new year but not get derailed as they have in the past time and time again. Or those that love to stay on a routine even through the crazy times of the pandemic. It changed my outlook on goal setting and routines and turned it into systems and habits.  System - a process that led to results.  Habit - a behavior that has been repeated enough times to become automatic.  Our habits can be broken down into a feedback loop that involves four steps: cue, craving, response, and reward. Clear then goes on to explain a simple set of rules that we can use to build better habits called the Four Laws of Behavior Change. You will have to read the book yourself to learn more. I promise you won’t regret it.  With all the being said after finishing the book I used these two sets of rules to ...

Winter Trends 2022 - Fashion and Beauty

Image
A new year means new trends in all aspects of our lives. My favorites are fashion and beauty! I have made a list of all the trends you guys need to be on the watch for the rest of winter 2022. Let’s take a look! Fashion: Bold Colors  No neutral or boring colors this winter! Bring out the bold colors hot pink, violet, lime green, or red. Whether it’s a monochromatic look or just of pop of accent color, your winter won’t be boring with bold colors.  Shackets A shacket is a shirt/jacket combo. The classic wool plaid you can’t go wrong with but leather and shearling shackets are becoming a hit in 2022.  Leather Pants Faux leather leggings have been a staple in past winter fashion but this year faux leather pants are taking over! They are a hit in a straight cut, original black or bold colors like red or olive green. Styling these pants with posh classics, like a slim-fit crewneck sweater or a button-up shirt for a look you can’t go wrong with!  Knee High Boots This basic...
